On behalf of the HDSA national Board of Trustees and our HD families across the country, I would like to extend my congratulations as recipient of the 2008 national award for Outstanding Fund Raising.
Your annual Bike for the Cure has become a cornerstone of the HDSA annual convention and we cannot imagine a year without you and Charlotte riding up to the hotel in your jaunty bike helmets and broad smiles of accomplishment.
The financial contribution that your rides have made to HDSA funded research cannot be underestimated. Every dollar that HDSA can raise to end this devastating disease is a dollar well spent and we thank you for your steadfast commitment to raise $500,000 for research. Though you may reach your goal this year, we hope that you will consider riding again to Phoenix. Our convention would not be the same without you and Charlotte.
We have come such a long way from the small band of volunteers Marjorie Guthrie gathered in 1967 just a few months after Woody's death. We are thankful that we have volunteers like you and Charlotte Reicks and all of those who join you each year on your ride. Thank you for all that you have done.
